Pakistan News : As part of the government’s on-a-war-footing preparation for a crushing crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf strikers in Faisalabad hundreds of riot police armed with batons have taken positions in Ghanta Ghar Chowk, the focal point of the PTI protest on Monday.

According to sources, at least one and a half thousand additional cops have been marshaled to teach Insafians an ‘unforgettable’ lesson.

“From the deserted look of the barracks in the headquarters it is not difficult to say the police department has almost left no cop undeployed ahead of PTI’s shutdown in Faisalabad,” the sources said.

They added that extra prisoner vans had also been called in, which makes it clear that hundreds if not thousands of arrests would certainly be made during the protest.

Meanwhile, emergency has been declared in all the hospitals of the city.

Earlier, PTI’s Shireen Mazari warned that in the event of violence in any of its possible forms during her party’s Monday’s protest in Faisalabad only the government would be to blame.

“We have learnt that N-League has fielded its bullyboys to sabotage out peaceful protest. Let me tell them loud and clear that by pulling off their violent tricks they cannot intimidate us,” PTI’s Central Information Secretary said in a statement issued here.

The passion-powered Insafians would flood the streets and jam the industrial cluster of Pakistan on Monday with all they were worth, Mazari said.

To a question, she said that Chairman Imran Khan would reach the city’s central Ghanta Ghar Chowk around 03:30 PM in the afternoon.
